“I have been a distance runner for over 20 years, having completed 13 marathons and numerous other running events. I had been slowly getting back into running after my knee surgery late this last year and determined I wanted to finish the year with a half marathon. The problem was, I had only 3 ½ weeks to prepare.
I contacted Coach Love to get a training plan together (needless to say, he was concerned with the very limited time frame). Fortunately, I had a fairly solid base. Coach Love put together a plan but carefully built in conditional plans so not to incur injuries or push beyond my abilities. An added benefit was his willingness to run with me; this was a huge encouragement. I had to quickly get past my slower turnover rate which meant some hard runs were needed. This is where his well-planned schedule and encouragement paid significant dividends. I was able to push through some very challenging runs and overcome some barriers very quickly without injury.
Even though I have had many year of running experience, Coach Love’s oversight was the key to my success. We had a lot of confidence that I would complete the half marathon but the pace was uncertain. We had determined what seemed to be a running plan that was very doable but still challenging. To my, and especially his surprise, I far exceeded our expectations.
I don’t recommend a short training plan like I had, but I certainly recommend Coach Love!”
“I just ran Hood to Coast. 198 mile Relay Race from Timberline Lodge to Seaside, Oregon. I am still in shock that I was able to cross this item off my bucket list. Eight months ago I could run for 10 minutes, really slowly and then had to take the afternoon off from physical activity. I owe all my success to Daniel. He created weekly runs to help me build my endurance, work on my speed and increase my distance. Daniel provided encouragement and support but never judged me when I couldn’t complete the runs. He asked about each week’s runs and how I was doing with the runs physically. He warned me about potential injuries and really helped by providing stretches and exercises when I started having plantar fasciitis pain from standing too much at work. Daniel was able to help me plan my runs around my work schedule. I am very proud of completing Hood to Coast and I know that I would not have been able to achieve this goal without Daniel’s help.“
“For the past 8 years I have been trying to force myself to get into shape, but having the discipline to run or workout after a long day of work is not an easy thing to do. Especially when you try to follow a strict workout plan found online. I tried many different ways to get in shape, but nothing seemed to work. For instance, I started a couch to 5k program I found on the internet. The first week was very simple, so I thought it would be an easy program to complete. After hurting my foot and falling behind a week I was unable to keep up with the new week and going back frustrated me enough I let it slide.
As I got closer to 30, I finally broke down and decided to try a coach with a running program. Since then I have seen very good results. Daniel has helped me with a personalized workout routine, which is scheduled around my personal life. He has helped me stay motivated and if I miss a workout will update my schedule, so I do not get frustrated or feel like I am falling behind. He has also been able to give me stretches to perform when parts of my body have been extra sore. And when everything was going well and I wanted to update my goal of finishing a 5k without walking to finishing a 5k under thirty minutes four weeks before the race. Daniel changed my workout schedule to help me achieve my goal.
I have been working with Daniel for just over 3 months now, and my results have been impressive. A couple of weeks into my training program I pushed myself hard and ran a mile in nine minutes, but had to walk during my next nine minute run. After a couple of months of training I ran 4.25 miles and my 4th mile was at a 9 min/mile pace. After working with Daniel I climb the three flights of stairs at work and am not out of breath or feel a horrible burn in my legs. I have a lot more energy at 30 than I did at 26, and with getting into shape I have lost weight as well. Since starting my program I have lost four inches from my waist and fit into clothes that have not fit me for years.
I want to leave you with one last thing. After helping me to accomplish my first goal, Daniel did not let me relax too much. Instead he scheduled another meeting with me to discuss my next goal and the next Sunday I had my workouts for the next week in my email inbox. I was able to recover, but not lose anything between finishing my first goal and moving onto my next goal!”
